Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust SQL database systems to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Collaborate with software developers, analysts, and project managers to refine database needs.
  • Create and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for efficient data handling and reporting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
  • Conduct data modelling and analysis to accurately represent business needs.
  • Integrate SQL code into applications in close partnership with development teams.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in SQL development.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience as an SQL Developer or in a similar role.
  • Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Proven skills in performance tuning and query optimisation.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • A proactive approach to learning and staying current with emerging SQL technologies.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with database administration tasks such as backups, recovery, and security.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
