Data Architect – Azure Cloud
Location: Remote (Northern Ireland)

About Our Client:
Our client is a leading professional services firm, working with some of the world’s largest organisations to drive digital transformation through data. They are seeking an experienced Data Architect with a strong background in Azure Cloud to design and implement scalable data solutions, helping clients unlock the full potential of their data. This is a fully remote role, based in Northern Ireland, with occasional travel for key meetings or collaboration sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of cloud-based data solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Develop and optimise data pipelines, ETL/ELT frameworks, and data integration strategies.
- Work closely with clients to understand business needs and translate them into scalable data architecture solutions.
- Ensure best practices in data governance, security, and compliance (including GDPR).
- Design and implement data lakes, data warehouses, and modern data platforms.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to drive data strategy and innovation.
- Provide technical leadership on Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, and Power BI.
- Optimise data storage, processing, and retrieval for performance and cost efficiency.
- Stay up to date with the latest cloud, data engineering, and AI trends, ensuring solutions are future-proof.
Ideal Candidate Profile (not everything is essential):
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer with a cloud-first approach.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, including services such as Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, and Databricks.
- Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience with data modelling and warehouse design.
- Familiarity with big data processing, streaming analytics, and modern data frameworks.
- Experience with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Spark, or Scala is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Certifications in Azure Data & AI (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer Associate) are desirable.
