Data Governance Manager

Job description.

Data Governance Manager

Our client has entrusted us with a key role for their business going forward. The person we are after is a passionate leader with a deep understanding of data governance and a vision for driving excellence.

Do you thrive on building frameworks that shape the future of data and analytics in a growing organisation? If so, we have the perfect role for you!

Why this Role?

As the Data Governance Manager, you’ll step into a brand-new role where you’ll lead and define the future of our client’s Data & Analytics Governance strategy. This is a unique opportunity to make your mark from day one by establishing best-in-class governance practices across the organisation. If you’re looking for a leadership role where you’ll have the freedom to shape how data governance operates and the chance to align your initiatives with the company’s evolving business goals, then this is your ideal next step.

What You’ll Be Doing

Shape the Strategy: You’ll design and implement a cutting-edge Data & Analytics Governance strategy. Your work will influence how data is managed across the organisation, ensuring alignment with the latest industry standards.

Lead with Purpose: As the driver of governance initiatives, you’ll collaborate with key stakeholders to build an operational framework that creates accountability and promotes data excellence. You’ll onboard Data Owners and Stewards, ensuring they have the support and training they need to thrive.

Foster a Data-Driven Culture: You’ll play a pivotal role in embedding governance standards across the organisation, fostering a culture of data quality that sets the business apart. You’ll advise, coach, and troubleshoot with teams to ensure best practices are implemented seamlessly.

Leverage Cutting-Edge Tools: You’ll have access to the latest data governance technologies, empowering you to maintain an up-to-date inventory of data assets and oversee critical areas like data quality, compliance, and master data management.

Be the Expert: Stay ahead of emerging trends, industry regulations, and best practices, ensuring your governance framework evolves with the times. Your insights will shape not just the governance practices, but the entire organisation’s approach to data.

Influence Key Stakeholders: You’ll work with business leads and report directly to senior management and the Data & Analytics Governance Forum. Your work will ensure that governance initiatives are both effective and aligned with broader business objectives.

Why our Client?

Freedom to Innovate: This is a blank slate for you to create and drive change. You’ll have the freedom to develop your own strategies and frameworks that best suit the company’s goals and values.

Strategic Impact: Your work will influence the entire business. By fostering a data-driven culture, you’ll enable teams across the organisation to make better, more informed decisions.

Career Growth: As this is a new and growing team, you’ll have the chance to shape not just the role, but your own career trajectory. You’ll be recognised as a leader in a critical function of the business, with opportunities for development and influence.

Who You Are

You’re a visionary, someone who sees the big picture but understands the importance of detail. You have:

Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks

A strong grasp of industry best practices.

Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to bring others along with your vision

A passion for fostering data-driven cultures and delivering tangible results.
