Virtualisation Engineer
Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cisco UCS and Virtualisation Engineer with expertise in Cisco UCS and virtualisation technologies like VMware, Red Hat Virtualisation, and OpenShift. The role involves leading complex projects, developing automation solutions, and optimising IT infrastructure performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Cisco UCS Management: Design, deploy, and maintain Cisco UCS infrastructure, including Fabric Interconnects and service profiles.
Virtualisation Management: Implement and manage virtualisation platforms (VMware, Red Hat Virtualisation, OpenShift), ensuring high performance and availability.
Automation & Scripting: Use Ansible and other tools to automate infrastructure processes, improving operational efficiency.
System Integration: Integrate UCS and virtualisation environments with existing IT infrastructure.
Performance & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor and resolve system performance issues across UCS and virtualisation platforms.
Scalability & Capacity Planning: Plan for future capacity needs and implement scalable solutions.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear documentation and provide regular system performance reports.
Collaboration & Leadership: Work with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
Essential Skills & Experience:
5+ years managing Cisco UCS and virtualisation environments.
Expertise in Cisco UCS architecture and components.
Proficiency in VMware, Red Hat Virtualisation, and OpenShift.
Strong scripting and automation experience using Ansible and Terraform.
Knowledge of containerisation (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking and storage.
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of experience.
Advanced certifications (e.g., Cisco CCIE Data Center, VMware VCDX, RHCA).
Extensive automation experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
This role is ideal for a proactive problem solver with strong leadership skills and a commitment to continuous learning.
