Ocho are working with an innovative Mobile Network Operator specialising in cutting-edge IoT solutions, who are looking to add a Head of Networks.
The Role:
We're looking for an experienced Head of Networks to lead the design, build, and operation of our Mobile Core Network. You'll oversee infrastructure, ensure optimal performance, and mentor a small team of telecom and infrastructure engineers.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of Mobile Core (HLR/HSS, STP/DRA, PGW, IMS) and network infrastructure (Routing, Switching, Data Centers, Servers).
- Manage and develop a high-performing team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Troubleshoot network issues, working closely with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Oversee network projects, expansions, and integrations to enhance IoT services.
- Ensure security, compliance, and regulatory adherence in mobile network operations.
- Support operations on an on-call basis.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven leadership in mission-critical network environments, ideally in mobile/telecom.
- Deep knowledge of telecom protocols (SS7, GTP, Diameter, SIP, VoLTE, etc.).
- Expertise in mobile network elements (HLR/HSS, PGW/GGSN, STP/DRA, IMS, SMSC).
- Strong Core network skills (IPv4, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and experience with vendors like Cisco, Nexus, Fortinet.
- Proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu, HAProxy) and Microsoft (IIS, MS-SQL) administration.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Scripting (PowerShell/Bash) or coding (C#/.NET) knowledge is beneficial.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
