AI/ML Engineer - Belfast / 100% remote. Exclusive to Ocho

Salary: £70,000-£100,000 + Bonus + Benefits

The Role:

We're hiring an experienced AI/ML Engineer to take the lead on designing and implementing intelligent platform features. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and wants to apply their technical skills to solve meaningful problems around automation, forecasting, and cost optimisation in complex cloud environments.


Key Responsibilities:

* Own the full machine learning lifecycle-from exploration through to production.
* Design and implement models for anomaly detection, forecasting, recommendations, and predictive analytics.
* Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to embed ML into customer-facing features.
* Run experiments, test hypotheses, and continuously improve model performance.
* Maintain reliability and scalability of ML systems in production environments.
* Stay ahead of trends in AI, ML, and cloud optimisation-and champion innovation.
* Communicate ideas and technical solutions clearly across teams.


Essential Criteria:

* Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
* Strong experience building ML pipelines and deploying models into production.
* Solid grasp of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cost optimisation principles.
* Experience with large-scale datasets and data engineering (Snowflake, Postgres, DynamoDB).
* Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field. (PhD a plus.)
* Minimum of 5 years' experience building production ML systems.
* Strong documentation, diagramming, and communication skills.
* Collaborative, problem-solving mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
