The Role:
As a Senior Java or Golang Developer, you'll join the Operations Engineering team and take a lead in designing and implementing backend services that underpin global financial trading. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong Java experience who enjoys full-stack ownership and problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop backend microservices in Java (Micronaut framework)
* Contribute to infrastructure tooling in Golang (5-10% of the role)
* Maintain and enhance web-based interfaces using Grails and JavaScript
* Participate in code reviews, CI/CD processes, and system automation
* Collaborate with a close-knit team to deliver performant, scalable systems
Essential Criteria:
* 3+ years Java development (Java 11+, Micronaut or Spring) This role is ideally for candidates with 7-8+ years commercial experience.
* Understanding of microservices architecture and relational/noSQL databases
* Familiarity with Docker, RabbitMQ, MongoDB/Postgres, CI/CD pipelines
* Willingness to touch frontend (JavaScript, Grails MVC) and DevOps tasks
Desirable Skills:
* Golang experience
* Familiarity with scripting languages (Groovy, Ruby, Python)
* Experience with RabbitMQ, TeamCity, Nomad/Consul
* Basic knowledge of networking and infrastructure automation
